  • Professionals with at least two years of post-degree work who want structure without sample essays
  • Applicants who want to check eligibility, work hours and course choices before writing

How the documents work together

  1. 1

Check eligibility: Confirm your citizenship, degree date and the two-year return commitment against the eligibility page for your round. (User Guide)

  2. 2

Count your work hours: List every post-degree work period with weeks and weekly hours and check you reach 2,800 hours over at least two years. (User Guide)

  3. 3

Set your dates: Enter the closing date for your country in the timeline. Until the next round is announced, use a provisional date and update it. (Application Timeline)

  4. 4

Collect stories: Write 12 to 20 true stories and tag them to the essay areas. Look at the coverage sheet for gaps. (STAR Evidence Bank)

  5. 5

Choose three courses: Research three different eligible courses and plan your university applications. (Essay Worksheets)

  6. 6

Work the essays: Answer the recall questions, choose your stories, plan each part, then write your own text offline. (Essay Worksheets)

  7. 7

Brief referees: Tell both referees early that you have named them and what a letter must contain if you are shortlisted. (Referee Brief)

  8. 8

Check and submit: Run each self-check and the final checklist. Nothing can be changed after you submit. (User Guide)

  9. 9

Prepare the interview: If shortlisted, practise the questions aloud and gather your documents and reference letters. (Interview Question Bank)

Questions about this kit

Is this kit connected to Chevening?

No. Chevening is free to apply and states on its application criteria page (https://www.chevening.org/resource-hub/guidance/application-criteria/) that it does not endorse or work with paid third parties. This kit is an independent self-study tool built from Chevening's public guidance.

Does it contain example essays?

No. Chevening prohibits AI-generated essay answers and treats someone else's work as plagiarism, so the kit gives you questions, structures and checks, never text to copy.

The 2027/28 round has closed. Is the kit still useful?

Yes, for the next round. Collecting your stories, counting your work hours and researching courses take time, and you can start now. Check the essay areas again when the next round opens.
