Who it's for

  • Applicants to a full-time Stanford graduate degree who also apply to Knight-Hennessy
  • Applicants who want structure without sample essays
  • Recent graduates checking their degree-date eligibility

How the documents work together

  1. 1

Check eligibility: Confirm your degree date and your Stanford programme choice against the eligibility page for your cycle. (User Guide)

  2. 2

Set your dates: Enter the Knight-Hennessy deadline and your Stanford programme deadline in the timeline. (Application Timeline)

  3. 3

Collect stories: Write 12 to 20 true stories and tag them to the three criteria. Look at the coverage sheet for gaps. (STAR Evidence Bank)

  4. 4

Brief recommenders: Send the brief early, with your CV, so both recommenders can plan. (Recommender Brief)

  5. 5

Work the prompts: Answer the recall questions, choose your stories, plan each part, then write your own text. (Essay Worksheets)

  6. 6

Check and submit: Run each self-check and the final checklist, then submit before the deadline even if letters are still pending. (User Guide)

  7. 7

Prepare the later stages: If invited, plan the video and practise the interview questions aloud. (Interview Question Bank)

General information

General information, not admissions advice. Every fact in this kit is checked against the programme's own pages and linked to its source. Rules change between cycles.

Programme rule on AI and help: AI tools may only play limited support roles: early brainstorming of themes, organising ideas you already have, flagging unclear or repetitive passages, and light grammar and spelling fixes that keep your voice.

Scholar Dossier is an independent publisher, not affiliated with or endorsed by any scholarship programme; programme names are used descriptively; no outcome is guaranteed; your essays must be your own work.

What's not included

  • Sample essays or model answers
  • Editing, review or coaching
  • Your Stanford degree application

Questions about this kit

Does this kit contain example essays?

No. The programme's AI and help policy expects your application to be your own writing, so the kit gives you questions, structures and checks, never text to copy.

Does it cover the Stanford degree application?

No. In most cases you must apply separately to your Stanford programme. The timeline lets you track that deadline alongside the Knight-Hennessy one.

Are the prompts current?

The kit uses the prompts published for the 2027-cohort cycle and links to the official page, which you should check when the next application opens.
