Who it's for

  • Chevening applicants invited to interview
  • Shortlisted candidates who want structured practice without scripted answers
  • Applicants who need to organise reference letters and documents quickly

How the documents work together

  1. 1

Book and note your slot: Book your interview slot in the online system, then enter your interview date in the blue deadline cell of the timeline. (Application Timeline)

  2. 2

Request reference letters: Send the checklist to both referees on the day you are invited. The upload deadline is at least seven working days before your interview. (Reference Letter Checklist)

  3. 3

Re-read your application: Read your four essays, course choices and work history as a panel member would and list every question they raise. (Interview Answer Planner)

  4. 4

Build your evidence bank: Write each essay example in STAR form with more detail than the essay holds, plus back-up stories for each theme. (STAR Evidence Bank)

  5. 5

Update your courses: Record where each university application stands and prepare to explain your first choice at module level. (Interview Answer Planner)

  6. 6

Practise aloud: Work through one theme per session, then run full mock interviews and log what to improve. (Interview Question Bank)

  7. 7

Upload and prepare the day: Upload ID, degree certificate and both letters on time, then check logistics and bring photo ID. (Interview Answer Planner)

Questions about this kit

Are these real Chevening interview questions?

No. Chevening publishes interview themes but no questions. The practice questions are written from those themes and are not questions from any panel.

Is this kit connected to Chevening?

No. Chevening is free and states on its application criteria page (https://www.chevening.org/resource-hub/guidance/application-criteria/) that it does not endorse or work with paid third parties. This kit is an independent self-study tool.

How does the timeline work?

Type your interview date in the deadline cell. Each task, including the upload of your documents and reference letters, then gets a target date counted back from the interview.
