Prepare your Oxford graduate application and secure Clarendon consideration by applying at the right deadline. This kit makes you copy your own course's rules into each worksheet, then helps you build every document from your own evidence.

What's inside

  • UK_Oxford_Clarendon_User_Guide.docx

This guide: how the kit works, the programme's rules, and your final checklist.

  • UK_Oxford_Clarendon_Supporting_Document_Worksheets_TEMPLATE.docx

One section each for the statement of purpose, the research proposal, written work and the CV. Each starts with a box where you copy your course's exact requirement, then gives recall questions, a structure planner and a self-check.

  • UK_Oxford_Clarendon_STAR_Evidence_Bank_TRACKER.xlsx

Your academic and professional evidence in Situation, Task, Action, Result form, with a coverage sheet that shows gaps. The tag list is your course's assessment criteria: replace the examples (taken from MPhil Development Studies) with your own course's criteria in the Criteria Coverage sheet and the hidden Lists sheet. Academic merit and potential (Clarendon) is the only fixed tag.

  • UK_Oxford_Clarendon_Referee_Brief_TEMPLATE.docx

A factual brief for each referee: how many references your course needs, how many must be academic, how they submit and the completeness rule at the deadline.

  • UK_Oxford_Clarendon_Application_Timeline_TRACKER.xlsx

Your course's December or January deadline, back-planned tasks, the published milestones and a cost tracker.

Who it's for

  • Applicants to any Oxford master's or DPhil course who want Clarendon consideration
  • Applicants from Nigeria, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Kenya and Ghana
  • Applicants who want structure without sample statements

How the documents work together

  1. 1

Pick your course and deadline: Open your course page and note its December or January deadline. If its only deadline is in March or later, you will not be considered for Clarendon. (Application Timeline)

  2. 2

Copy your course's rules: Copy the statement limit and content, research proposal rule, written work rule, CV rule, referee number and test requirements from your course page into the worksheets. (Supporting Document Worksheets)

  3. 3

Collect evidence: Write 12 to 20 true stories and tag them to your course's assessment criteria. (STAR Evidence Bank)

  4. 4

Ask and brief referees: Ask the number and type of referees your course requires and send each one the brief early. (Referee Brief)

  5. 5

Prepare documents: Answer the recall questions, plan each document, then write your own text. Order official transcripts and certified translations. (Supporting Document Worksheets)

  6. 6

Submit early: Oxford recommends submitting the form and all documents at least two weeks before the deadline. Make sure at least two references are in by the deadline. (User Guide)

Questions about this kit

Do I need to apply separately for Clarendon?

No. You are automatically considered if you apply for your course by its December or January deadline. Applying at a March or later deadline excludes you from Oxford scholarships.

Why does the kit not give me my course's word limit?

Oxford sets statement limits, written work, CV rules and referee numbers course by course. Each worksheet asks you to copy your course page's exact rules, and two example courses show how much they vary.

Can I use AI to translate or polish my documents?

Oxford allows AI for formatting, spelling and grammar checks, but prohibits AI-generated ideas or text and AI translation of supporting documents into English.
